Bespoke Orangeries in Wiltshire, dorset and hampshire

What is an orangery?

Orangeries are a cross between a conservatory and a solid roofed extension.  They provide more of a room like feel, one that is both light and airy.  Light floods in from the sides and also through the glazed lantern roof above.  A plastered ceiling area around the inside perimeter roof edge helps create and achieve a comfortable room like environment.  The internal plastered ceiling area is usually used to install downlighters.  We fit low powered dimmable LED downlighters in all our orangeries.

Orangeries add value to a property as they are considered as adding to the footprint of the property, besides being a very attractive and luxurious addition.

Our clients are always surprised at how warm and comfortable our orangeries are in the winter.  This is because a substantial amount of insulation is incorporated to the walls, roof and floor during construction.  In addition to this, we use insulating glass units in the side windows and lantern roof.  During the warmer months, our orangeries are made more comfortable by the use of the solar control glass we incorporate in the lantern roof, this is also self-cleaning!

Designing the perfect orangery

There are many design possibilities to create your perfect orangery extension.  This can be from a traditional framework style to a contemporary design to an orangery incorporating mostly solid external walls.  Orangeries are also used to form part of an open plan home extension.  These are now very popular and can combine various uses, kitchen – dining room orangeries for example.  As part of the project, we can also create the opening through from your property into the orangery.

If you are unsure of the style you would like, our designer will be pleased to go through the various options with you.

We design and build hardwood orangeries across wiltshire, dorset, hampshire, somerset, devon, surrey & berkshire.
